Immersion Writers Africa
Immersion Writers Africa cultivates literary and scholarly talent across the African continent and its global diaspora. Our name reflects our unwavering focus: wherever we go—from Nairobi to Berlin to San Juan—we center African and Afro-descended knowledge and creativity. Our workshops are designed for aspiring and established poets, creative writers, and academics seeking to refine their craft and engage deeply with diasporic texts. Programs in Germany engage directly with the Afro-German experience, while our intensives in Puerto Rico delve into Afro-Puerto Rican history and its contemporary literary and scholarly voices. Through dedicated mentorship and collaborative projects, we provide a critical platform for interdisciplinary exchange, strengthening a global network dedicated to African narrative power.
